Blessed from birth with a writerly name, I have been a writer ever since I was a shy child growing up in Boston, Massachusetts. I overcame my shyness to become an actor, earning a BFA in Acting from Boston University and later living the actor's life in New York City. I earned an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from New York University. I have been a Wall street lackey, toiling at the famous Goldman Sachs. I am a graduate of the Swedish Institute, and most recently I have run two massage therapy businesses with my wife, one a private practice (Mr. & Mrs. Shelley, LMT) and a second business (Massage Artists) wherein we employ a team of massaging all-stars to do massage in an art gallery.
I first became interested in officiating while attending one of my friend's weddings. I now wonder why it took me so many years to find the thing I have been meant to do all of my life. Officiating weddings calls upon my writing skills, my theater skills, my business skills, and my people skills. I have never been happier in a job. I enjoy helping couples orchestrate the ceremonial aspect of the happiest day of their life. I enjoy coaxing the details of love stories from the minds and the lips of the couples whom I am fortunate enough to call clients. I enjoy helping them find the best words for their best day.
Currently, I am a licensed Wedding Officiant in New York State, and I am studying at the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, to become an official Life-Cycle Celebrant.
