Maira's services met ALL my needs. My hair and make-up looked flawless the entire day into the night. My husband snapped a photo of me at 1am and if you compare it to photos of when Maira finished in the morning I look exactly the same! And that's after hours of running around, dancing, and eating. One thing a bride should never have to worry about is, "how does my hair/make-up look?" Maira uses the best products to ensure that the bride never even wonders about that.The best part of getting ready for my wedding is that Maira put me at total ease. She worked diligently to make sure she finished the look we created at the trial and brought the photos with her to ensure she didn't miss any details. Another added plus was that she is punctual! I didnt have to worry about the time b/c Maira made she she was on top of that. Maira is extremely professional and I have no doubt she will make any bride look amazing. Maira was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the wedding process. I found her through recommendations on websites, like this, and was impressed with what other brides were saying. I was looking for someone who was able and willing to travel to a hotel with their team to do both hair and makeup for a group of 9 plus me. Maira responded that day to my email - which impressed me, and rather than lock in the date immediately with me, she asked me to come in for a trail. She would not let me sign a contract until i was able to see her work (this impressed me, as most people wanted me to sign a contract and not do my trail until a few weeks before hte wedding). From my first meeting and trail, Maira was extremely professional and fun. She took the time to get to know me, I never felt rushed or just as if i was another client. After the first trial, she kept in contact with me through the engagement, answered any questions i had along the way, and provided me with first rate service the day of my wedding. Along with her team, she ensured that her image was maintained for the day - my girls werent just farmed out to someone of lesser expereience than Maira. She oversaw the entire process for every girl and the end results were amazing. Never in my life have i felt so beautiful - she listens to what you say and provides recommendations of what would work based on your personality and style. I would recommend Maira to anyone looking to have a day where you can truly sit back, relax and walk out of the room feeling and looking like a princess.

Maira is such a talent!. I knew the day that she came to do my trial that I had to book her! Not only does she do an amazing job but she is so friendly and easy to get along with. On my wedding day she and her team came early and did a fantastic job on myself and my huge bridal party (8 BM's, MOB, and FG). Def do the airbrush! It leaves your skin flawless and natural looking. All in all, she made myself and all my bridal party look amazing. She really nailed the look I was going for. I received endless compliments. I never felt more beautiful! Amazing job! After our initial consultation, I felt that Maira had a great idea of the look I was going for and strong skills to get the job done. Maira was always able to accommodate my requests and my schedule, including a last minute request for church rehearsal hair & makeup. On my wedding day, which was stressful and emotional at first, Maira did her best to calm my nerves and help me relax and went out of her way to lift my spirits. She also knows how to bring out every client's best features and natural beauty (for brides and mothers of every background/ethnicity). Her assistants are also well-trained and professional - their work was closely supervised and perfected by Maira at the end to ensure my bridal party, my Mom and my Mother-In-Law looked amazing. My experience working with Maira Ortiz was fantastic and I would definitely recommend her not only for wedding hair and make-up but for all your special occasion needs. I did a ton of searching online – reading sites like weddingwire, weddingbee, etc. for user reviews because I wanted to be confident going into the hair & make up trial that I would not be wasting precious time and resources. I loved the reviews I read and decided to give Maira a try. The trial went really well even though I started off very undecided with a lot of different looks. Maira is a petite dynamo full of energy, with a great personality. Although she has quite an impressive portfolio, she was not pretentious at all and was very easy to talk to. She helped tweak the styles I showed her to fit my face and didn’t just copy the pictures I brought. It’s a shame that she doesn’t believe in posting “before” and “after” shots because you would be able to see the dramatic transformation that she is able to accomplish without ever making you look “overdone”. I looked and felt like a million bucks and really hated to wash my face/hair, later that night.The day of my wedding I was certainly feeling the pressure and stress and I love that Maira took the time to help me relax by giving me a few words of wisdom about enjoying the day and twirled me around my hotel room to dance a bit and clear my head. She expertly and efficiently did not only my hair and make-up but the hair and make-up for my mom, and two sisters – who can be quite picky- all within a tight timeframe. Maira made us all look like our very best selves…We all got tons of compliments and the pictures are great because of her flawless work.Considering the outrageous prices other makeup artists charge for “bridal” makeup, I think Maira’s pricing is extremely reasonable, right in the middle range. Something important to consider when reviewing your budget is that most stylists I read about online DON’T do both hair and make-up so you’re stuck paying for a minimum of 2 people for the separate services. Maira, however, does both!In the end, Maira’s work was well worth every penny. I felt pampered and beautiful as every bride should feel on her wedding day and highly recommend her services.

Maira and her team did hair and makeup for me and my four bridesmaids on the morning of my 10-2-10 wedding. Since our ceremony began at noon, we had to start pretty early in the morning. Not only did Maira arrive ready to go, she was early! We were all ready in about three hours.All of my bridesmaids looked beautiful, and they each looked like themselves (not generic or too matchy). Each of them wanted different hair styles, and Maira did an excellent job of listening to what they wanted. As for me, I have never felt more beautiful. Maira took what we did for my trial run, and tweaked it a little for my Wedding Day. I got the airbrush make-up, and I highly recommend it. My make-up stayed fresh-looking all day long, but it felt like I wasn't wearing anything. I would highly recommend Maira to any bride!

Maira and her team did makeup and hair for me, my four bridesmaids, and my mother. She was super organized, professional, and made everyone look the best I've ever seen them. She's a good listener and was able to help all of my girls look the way they wanted, despite their very different tastes and desires. Everyone's hair stayed in place from beginning to end (and then some), and I amazingly looked fresh and made up even after the after party was over. I recommend the air brushing- it feels like you're not wearing anything at all and it STAYS ON!In case I haven't made it clear before, I would like to emphasize how reliable Maira is. Not only did they get everyone made up with plenty of time before the wedding (we were on a tight schedule), but she also showed up to the hotel early! Anyway, I can't recommend Maira enough- she's stress free and will make you look stunning on your special day.

I already had a makeup trial I wasn't happy with before my trial with Maira. After my trial with Maira, I booked her immediately, as I loved the look she created for me. . Maira absolutely nailed what I was looking for on the day of. Furthermore, she arrived early and completed her work in a timely fashion, so we never felt rushed. She also did a beautiful job on my mom's hair and makeup. We both used air-brush makeup which was completely tear-proof and lasted all day. My hair also lasted until the end of the night. In fact, the curls were still there the morning after ! My mom also reported that her hairstyle held up the next day. Maira is a very sweet person and was great to have around on my wedding day. I hope to use her for special occasions in the future.

Maira was AMAZING on my wedding day! She came to my house early and was ready to go. While my entire household was running around and last minute details were being fixed, Maira was a calming presence and she helped me relax. First, she did hair and makeup on my mom and aunt. They both came out stunning. Their hair and makeup stayed the entire night - and they didn't even get airbrushing like I did. In the pictures, they look flawless. Next up was me! I changed my hair style last minute and Maira was more than accommodating. Maira did my hair and my makeup - I had airbrushing done - and I swear, I did not have to touch anything up the entire day. From the 3pm church service until I got home at 2am in the morning I did not have to touch up my hair or my make up. Maira did such an amazing job on me, I was incredibly happy because as a bride you want to feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and I def. felt that way. I would def. recommend Maira and her services. She is not only a very talented hair and makeup artist but a very sweet, gentle, patient, and kind person. Thank you, Maira!
