Judy is awesome! Had a cupcake tower with 1 tier on the top and they came out so perfect! Got a lot of compliments on the green tea cupcakes and everyone loved them :) I also had bridal shower cupcakes made by Judy and she's very flexible and easy to work with. Very affordable too. I will continue to go back to Judy for all my cake/cupcake needs :) Thanks Judy

Judy at Silk Cakes did a fantastic job on our Super Mario Bros Grooms cake. Our design was very specific and detailed and Judy created something better than either of us could have imagined. The cake was a show stealer and everyone wanted a photo next to it. In fact anywhere a photo of our cake was posted, we had people commenting where it was done and they had to have the same one for their wedding. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.Not only did the cake look incredible, it was truly delicious. We went with the green tea and truffle dark chocolate combo.We highly recommend Judy at Silk Cakes and my wife is already requesting her Bridal shower cake to be done at Silk Cakes.

Our wedding cake was not only beautiful (my fiancé mistook the orchids for real flowers), but it was delicious! The cake was moist and not too sweet which was what we were looking for. We went with the ube (purple yam) which was such a pretty lavender color and paired it with vanilla buttercream. Both were phenomenal. The best part was not needing to choose between fondant or buttercream, because Judy does both! She couples the buttercream underneath the fondant. She is great to work with and I highly recommend her!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Judy and the wedding cake she made for my husband and I. All the guests raved about the green tea flavor cake with semi sweet chocolate ganache we chose for our cake. Judy was great to work with, she was attentive in listening to what we wanted and responsive in emails. Since we didn't save the top tier of the cake. My husband and I are planning to place an order next year for our one year anniversary. Till then, I can only dream about my wedding cake. THANKS JUDY!!!

Judy did an amazing job on our wedding cake and groom's cupcakes. We loved a design we had seen during our research into wedding cakes and she artfully reproduced the picture, which involved intricate handcut fondant applications. Her skill is simply amazing! The cake was gorgeous and the best part is how moist, light and delicious the cake tasted. We had quite a large 4 tier red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and many of our guests told us how they had to help themselves to seconds. We couldn't bear to wait a year to taste the top tier and happily enjoyed it the day after our wedding when we had a moment to bask in the afterglow. We will definitely be returning in a year to have a fresh one made! She also created Angry Birds groom's cupcakes which were unbelievably accurate and perfect in color and size. Everyone was raving about them, kids and adults included! Again, the pistachio cake was just wonderfully flavored without being overbearing and delightfully light. She is extremely talented and humble and does a great job working within your budget. We are extremely happy to have worked with her and would highly recommend her to anyone! My mouth waters just thinking about her cakes :)

I booked Judy without having done a tasting based on the fabulous reviews on this website as I am from FL but was getting married in NY. We were not dissapointed! Our cake was not only the most beautiful I have ever seen, it was absolutely delicious. Judy was extremely flexible as I had to reschedule several appointments to meet with her and we had excellent communication throughout the design process. She is really an artist, it was almost a shame to cut the cake.

I am so glad that I chose Judy to make my wedding cake! The cake was beautiful and exactly the design I wanted (winter wonderland). Her cakes are so delicious and the cake tasting was so yummy. We finally settled on a mocha cake with raspberry butter cream frosting. The guests at the reception loved the cake, as did we, and many of them said it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. Our photos of the cake are beautiful and I couldn't be happier with my decision to work with Judy. She is so sweet and helpful. I brought her a photo of my dream cake and she made it our reality! And she is quite reasonable with her pricing, which allowed us (two students) to have this wonderful cake for our wedding!

It was great to have Judy for the wedding cake - and as the ratings suggest, she did an absolutely fabulous job. We selected the Red Velvet cake with Vanilla Buttercream and semi-sweet chocolate truffle and everyone loved it. She was accommodating enough to alter the color of the cake to match the decor of the reception room. The guests loved the look and taste of it. We still have some in the freezer that we intend to relish over the coming weeks. But the best part is not the cake - Judy is an extremely nice and affable person. Thank you!

We are glad we chose Judy Lai to prepare the wedding cake on our special day. Her red velvet cake with semi chocolate truffle covered with fondant was outstanding. We know how much time and effort she put into the cake just by looking and eatting the cake. Judy is very professional and very talented in what she do. We didn't have much time to explain to Judy every detail of the vision we had for our cake, but the finished product nevertheless reflected the look we had in mind and the quality/taste of the cake exceeded our expectations (and we received many compliments on our cake). Judy is very professional and easy to work with - you choose from a set of flavors, and the cake is otherwise fully customizable.

Judy was absolutely wonderful to work with, patient, creative and professional. She worked with us a lot on the design of the cake and it came out fabulous! People came up to us throughout the night to tell us how great and wonderful the cake looked, and they still continue to remind us how cool the cake looked, and how fantastic it tasted!

Judy was amazing. The design and the taste of the multilayer cupcakes were phenomenal! I can't even begin to imagine the time and patience it took to design each and every individual cupcake. Also, I had recently relocated from NY to CA and had to plan my wedding remotely. Judy was able to help me plan everything via email; from the custom design based off my wedding theme, to the type of icing, cake and filling. She made my remote planning so easy! Judy is nice and accommodating. I ordered a green tea with chocolate/butter cream cake and it was awesome. Her detail work on the cake was excellent; the cake turned out exactly how I wanted. A lot of my guests at my wedding was praising on the detailed figurines and how tasty the cake was. I would recommend Silk Cakes to whoever needs a cake for any occasion.

Judy Lai from Silk Cakes made my cupcake wedding display for my reception on 9/5/10. It came out AMAZING! From the first email exchange to the actual wedding day, Judy was an absolute dream to work with during a very stressful time of wedding planning. She was always responsive, patient, understanding and professional. She always gave the best suggestions and advice as to what would look the best. Judy is simply amazing. Having come highly recommended to me from a friend I couldn't have expected such a beautiful experience. We had a double wedding- a chinese and american celebration. She catered to the tastes of each crowd beautifully. If you live in the metro NYC area and are looking for a top notch cake without paying what NYC prices generally are do not look any further than Silk Cakes. We had the most amazing red velvet cake with buttercream AND fondant for one and a really yummy green tea cake in the same fashion. We had about 100 cupcakes set up in tiered cupcake tree which consisted of two different flavors: - yellow butter cake with dulce de leche buttercream white chocolate truffle&- red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream and semi sweet chocolate truffleMy mouth is watering as I write this review. They were so delicious!! The cake was moist and not too sweet. The icing was fantastic. We had ours made with the fondant and it was extremely decadent. Each red velvet was decorated with a sugar flower of a dendrobium orchid and on the very top, Judy created a branch of orchids to finish off the look..It was absolutely beautiful. The great thing about the topper is that I was able to take it home and now have a wedding keepsake!It was really great working with Judy. I would highly recommend Silk Cakes to make your wedding dreams come true! I am certainly looking for another excuse to commission Judy for some cupcakes or a special cake very soon!!

Judy was the best vendor I worked with during my wedding planning. She was professional, knowledgeable and patient. I went to her with an idea of what I had envisioned for my cake and she knew exactly how to make it a reality. My cake was perfect. Some of my guests told me afterwards that it was the best red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting that they have ever had, and I must agree! Thanks Judy!

Judy's red velvet, with a chocolate and buttercream topping was absolutely magnificent. The cake was made with soy milk by request and it practically melted in your mouth. On a personal note, Judy was an absolute charm to work with. She was responsive, courteous and had the utmost willingness to provide excellent service. My wife and I would come to her if we ever need a cake. Actually, we will be needing one soon (Grandfather's 80th birthday)! Judy came highly recommended and I would highly recommend her services to anyone. If you're looking for the perfect cake, don't settle for the rest. Silk Cakes is the best! Sandy and Frank.

Judy was fantastic throughout the entire process. We had already picked the flavor prior to choosing the cake vendor and she was extremely accommodating in providing that particular flavor. We had also asked for a sample and the taste was exactly what we liked (not too sweet). As for the design, we were all over the map and Judy was great in helping us narrow down the ideas and finalize the design of the cake. When we saw the cake at the reception, it was exactly what we discussed. Judy was extremely professional--we would definitely choose Silk Cakes again for future celebratory cakes.
