From the beginnning, TOG was perfect. From our event coordinator, Nicole, to the waitstaff, everyone was very friendly, professional and accomodating. The flowers were absolutely beautiful; the cake was exactly what we requested; and the food was delicious! I wish I could renew my wedding vows every year at Tavern.

I Highly recommend this venue. They are truely professionals. Although, it is in the higher-end budget category, it is worth all the money we spent and more! There was only one minor thing that worried me... You have to totally trust them because they are not great when it comes to getting back to you right away with questions. The truth is, I told them what I wanted in detail and although I smothered them with questions, and they took a long time to get back to me with answers, they supplied me with exactly everything I wanted down to every single detail. It was amazing. I am still surprised. My cake was a dream, the food was 5 star, the delivery and service was awesome!!! 5 starts all around!!!

I had some reservations about holding my reception at Tavern on the Green, but let me tell you they were excellent to work with. We worked with James and he was very accomodating. The food was phenom, the in house florist was excellent, the cake was to die for!I would totally recommed TOTG to anyone who is looking for that NYC wedding.

I found leading up to the wedding it was hard to get ahold of our wedding planner and the we were never able to meet with the florist (which drove me nuts!!!!) but when our wedding day came, I can honestly say that it was the most perfect thing in the entire world. I couldn't tell you a single thing that I wish was different or that I didn't like. Our wedding day could not have been more perfect!! It is such an amazing location, your photos will be beautiful! They keep such great care of all of the landscaping during the spring/summer/fall, and have gorgeous lighting in the winter. They do follow through with everything they promise, and are VERY professional. Our ceremony was at noon on the terrace, the cocktail hour was immediately after outside, and the lunch was in the crystal room. Having it in the afternoon made the wedding very affordable. Having it in the evening makes it quite pricey. We chartered a bus from Ancaster, Ontario (Canada) and brought all of our guests to New York City for 4 days. It will be a year ago in a few days, and everyone is still talking about how incredible the wedding was. If you have any questions or anything, or want to see some photos, feel free to let me know! laura_h35@hotmail.com

Tavern made my wedding a fairy tale - it was worth every penny! I worked with Jeff Becktold to get everything perfect, and then the florist, Julian, and the EXCELLENT maitre'd, Gus. Everyone was incredibly professional, and everyone remarked how beautiful it all looked. It was truly a fantasy wedding - perfect venue!

A beautiful place to get married. The decor is pretty cheesy 70's, but the views are awesome. It's right in the middle of central park. We had our wedding here in the winter time, which made it even more romantic. You could see straight into the park becuase the trees didn't have any leaves.

The setting location is beautiful, and especially if you have out of town guests, this is a well known destination. The interiod setting was done beautifully, and the only disappointment was the entry that guests had to share with all other diners at this location. We had a beautiful separate area, and even though it overlooked the drive through the park cars going through all the time, it was decorated to perfection and the service was seamless and the food divine!

everything was ok...except for the flowers and the decorations. It was not what we talked about. and the flowers for the church was sooo late. They didnt arrive untill the time I was to start the wedding.

Although our coordinator left half-way through planning (we only worked with the venue for 4 months total) we were able to make progress and finalize details. The venue itself is stunning and the staff is very friendly. I was only upset that they didn't save any leftovers from our cake, which we specially brought in from another vendor. So not only don't we have anything to celebrate our first anniversary with, our special cake was eaten by the kitchen staff! For the most part the planning process was smooth and the event was a huge success. I would expect the planning to be a bit smoother as the venue holds so many events. We had a staff coordinator/captain, Richard, who was just phenomenal and went out of his way before and during our event - definitely insure he's your captain!!

this was our letter to Tavern on the Green, which we had to email to them 4 times before we ever got any response. Not sure if you received the survey we sent back since we didnÂ’t hear from you. Enclosed, please find a copy of our comments belowÂ… Please advise. Thanks! Grant & Shawn KooJune 1, 2008Regarding Tavern on the Green: 1) Arrival into the restaurant entrance was terrible. Some of our reserved parking spots that were paid for in advance were not even used by guests because they told us they were being blocked from entering the entrance to the Tavern on the Green. 2) Guests were not shown into the garden area for the 6-6:30 PM time period but instead were told to sit in the room where our ceremony was to be (Discussion that we had with Sarah was that guests were presented a drink upon arrival and then would wait on the patio. Some guests even told us they were led to the bar mitzvah that was taking place that afternoon/evening. 3) Our specially engraved Celtic champagne flutes were both broken. They were on the table reserved only for the bride and groom. When we went to get them at the end of the evening, both were on the table broken. One of our guests who is a caterer said that if this happens, the restaurant is responsible for replacing them. 4) The plated appetizer of ahi tuna was very skimpy. At the tasting, we were shown that the actual served appetizer would have 3 slices of tuna but instead it was served with 2 slices of tuna and very small accompaniment. 5) We paid for a bar set-up during the dinner in the dining room, but it was not in either the Rafters Room or Terrace Room. Guests later told us they were not aware of an open bar during dinner since it was placed outside in the Garden. 6) Lastly, the wedding coordinator, Sarah did not stay for the whole function to oversee our event. Thank goodness, the Maitre 'D, Rodney, did a terrific job to coordinate the whole event. He went above and beyond and we will remember him for doing such a great job that evening. As for Sarah, we felt that she definitely fell short of what a wedding coordinator should do. As you can recall, Bryan our initial meeting with the Tavern, Shawn and I flew in from Florida and arranged with Sarah weeks in advance to meet, sign the agreement and drop off the 1st depositÂ…if you rememberÂ…you had to fill in that morning and take care of all the necessary arrangements since Sarah did not show up. As for the other details throughout the year, it was us who had to contact Sarah each and every time to update her on our wedding arrangements. Furthermore, she got into an argument with my father regarding a question that we had regarding the sales tax being charged on the service charge. She threatened him, that if the final balance was not paid, she would cancel the wedding. We felt that this was very unprofessional behavior in any business. She could have used more tact in handling this situation.Overall, Shawn and I were extremely happy with the wedding and the Tavern on the Green. We felt it was the magical wedding we hoped for. Our guests who were unaware of these issues said it was a beautiful wedding and the food was delicious.

Beware of this joke of a place. BRYAN KALMAN, DIRECTOR OF CATERING who acted as our wedding advisor puts on a great show but delivers NOTHING near the qulaity promised to us. The staff was not attentive to our guests and the professionalism was not on par with what was promised to us. PLEASE AVOID BRYAN KALMAN & TAVERN ON THE GREEN!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE AVOIS TAVERN OIN THE GREEN AT ALL COST!!!! **BRYAN KALMAN** DIRECTOR OF CATERING MESSED UP MY WEDDING!!!The staff is such just a disaster. BRYAN KALMAN has to be the WORST event planner I have worked with thus far. It is sad that this had to be the case at any girls most anticipated day. They are nice to you when you look at the place. After you leave a hefty deposit, it all changes. What was kind, now becomes rude. What was exciting, now becomes a nightmare. There are so many other beautiful places in NYC to hold a private event or wedding.or even just go to dinner.PLEASE AVOID TAVERN ON THE GREEN AND THEIR HORRID STAFF PARTICULARLY BRYAN KALMAN!!!
